Steal of a Deal

I found this dresser at a garage sale for $45.  What a steal.  I saw a similar one on craigs list just a few days before for $90, but when I called about it, it was already sold.  I'm so glad it was already sold.  So I took this outdated dresser......and turned it into this...........

Green with Envy

I found this chair in my neighbors garbage. I noticed one of the legs was broken, but a little wood glue and some TLC and she was as good as new. She will make a nice addition to my office. And here she is...

Armoire Makeover

I got this armoire from my neighbor and it was black with pink toile fabric panels on the doors and knobs. I was using it as my daughters closet since she didn't have one at the time. I was debating whether to redo it since we were moving her up into her big girl room or leave it as is. Thanks to the help of my 2 year old, I didn't have to make that decision. She pulled the panels off for me. It was time for a complete makeover.

This is how it looked without the panels and fabric knobs. The paint job was terrible.
This is it after. I don't know if you can see the subtle stencil pattern on the doors. After doing this project, I am on a stencil craze. Stay tuned for my next stencil job...the entryway. I will post as soon as I finish the job.

Easter Eggs

I wanted to find something to fill my jar for Easter, but didn't want to use the usual pastel easter eggs. I wanted them all to match so I tried just painting them with craft paint, but the paint wouldn't stick. So I tried spray painting them first and then the craft paint went on much easier. I think they turned out pretty cute.

Old Gold frame turned into a fancy chalkboard

Ok so this picture isn't the best, but I think the chalkboard turned out cute even so.

Gold Frame

I went shopping at the local thrift store with some friends today and what a find. I got this frame for a whopping 3.98. What a deal. Mom you would be proud. The lady at the register looked at my frame and said, "what a great deal, this is a very expensive frame." I had to chuckle to myself because, really its not an expensive frame. Its made out of plastic. I'm not sure what color to paint it yet, or if I want to make it into a chalkboard or a mirror. Any suggestiong? I will post the AFTER pictures when I finish it.

Couch Makeover

When we moved into our first house about 13 years ago, we purchased our first couch. It sat in our formal front room most of that time unused, except for a few home/visiting teaching occassions. The fabric is dated and it was looking very sad, so instead of buying a new couch, I made an attempt to recover it.
This is the before picture... and this is the After picture. Not too bad for a first try.
